This Entry Level 1 Maths course introduces the essential numeracy skills learners need for everyday life. Designed for beginners and young people who may lack confidence in maths, the course uses simple, practical examples to build understanding step by step.

This course covers all required Entry Level 1 competencies, including:
Read, write, order, and compare numbers up to 20.
Count up to 20 items, including zero.
Add and subtract small numbers where results do not exceed 20.
Recognise and use symbols such as +, –, and =.
Recognise coins and notes and write values using £ and p (up to 20).
Read 12-hour digital and analogue clocks in hours.
Know and sequence days of the week, months, and seasons.
Compare basic measurements: size, length, width, height, weight, and capacity.
Use everyday positional vocabulary: left, right, behind, under, above, in front.
Identify and recognise common 2D shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle).
Recognise simple 3D shapes (cube).
Understand basic positional language for daily activities.
Read numerical information from simple lists.
Sort and classify objects using a single criterion.
Draw simple charts such as tally charts and block diagrams.
